A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

Ashcombe is a fictional town set in Pennsylvania's Coal Region. It was created as a blend of communities throughout Carbon County and the surrounding area where I grew up.

 

While the people and events in this story are products of my imagination, a number of the locations mentioned are real, and several fictional landmarks and settings were inspired by places I have known and loved.

To those familiar with the Coal Region, I hope you'll recognize a few pieces of home hidden throughout these pages.
